The Chill of Winter
As I was walking to a fundraising committee meeting this evening, I realized there was a distinct bite to the chill in the air. I realized that while I'd been wearing the liner of my winter jacket for the past few weeks, that it wasn't going to suffice anymore, and that I'd need to tack on the shell, if I'm going to survive the winter.
I hate the winter. Sorry, that's not quite true. I love winter because it's cool in the house and I can wrap myself up with blankets and kittens and hubbies (err, hubby, singular), but I hate the fact that it's cold outside. Like, really cold. Outside in winter has never really appealed to me, at all, even as a kid. I'm much more comfortable inside somewhere cool/warm with a nice cup of (adult) hot chocolate.
This year I resolve to hate winter just a little less, but I doubt it'll work well. By the time mid-February rolls around, I'll be ready to check out of this country until May.
So who's with me? DOWN WITH WINTER!

Winter camping? Sounds dreadful. I did winter "camping" once where I got isolated for a long weekend in a cabin with a wood stove as the only source of heat, and that was enjoyable and relaxing. But otherwise it sounds unpleasant. ;-) I may need some convincing.
