So, we're having two friends move in very soon, and in order to get them set up, we've put up two new walls and a door so that they can have a nice spacious living space in the basement. Of course, this means that we've got to re-home the stuff that's down there, and some of it (the boardgames, mostly) are going to end up in my office, and the movies and some furniture in the hubby's office space.
This, of course, has given me impetus to finally clean out my office, something I've been meaning to do since we took possession of the house (over two years!). When we moved in, I decided that I could live with the existing colour, a beautiful dusty rose (note the sarcasm). However, about six months ago, when Jamie decided he was going to repaint his room, I picked out a nice colour (a dark blue-grey), but since my room was such a mess, there wasn't any room to actually paint.
So now that we need to move stuff into my room, I figured, I'll clean my office out, paint it, and then I'll have tons of room for the boardgames. What I failed to notice was the multitude of drywall anchors that need to be dealt with (help!), old screw holes in the walls, etc. So tomorrow, I'll be dealing with those, taping off the baseboards (I'll probably replace those eventually. I don't like the current ones.), window molding, etc. Depending on how long the patching compound will take, I might even prime it. Here's a question: Do I have to prime the whole wall, or can I get away with only priming the areas that are patched? I hope my google-fu is strong tomorrow.
Anyway, hopefully it'll look better. I'll have to post some before/after shots. Hopefully it'll be worth the trouble. LOL.
Have a great Sunday!
