Internet Problems
I've been really frustrated with my internet provider, 3web/CIA lately. When I first signed up, the service was amazing: 10 Mbps down, 1 Mbps up, solid connection, always delivering. However, since September, for some reason, once we hit peak hours, it'll crawl at 0.5-1.5 Mbps down and 1 Mbps up.
What I really don't get is how despite the dismal speedtest results, I can easily get my torrents downloading at 1 MBps (or about 8 Mbps). I've called tech support about a dozen times and each time the tech is very friendly and helpful, but can't say much because it's a network problem.
I love my cable internet service, but I really don't want to have to go back to Rogers (payed just over twice the price for the same service levels), but my rogers connection, even during peak hours, rarely dipped below 6 Mbps down. However, the torrents were throttled to no end. It almost feels like "regular" downloads are throttled on CIA but torrents are unthrottled. WTH is that?
I'll probably give tech support another try. *SIGH*
